Jim Turner became Ralph Nader's alter ego when he persuaded Nader that the public did not understand that the Nader crusade on auto safety was about corporate irresponsibility generally, not auto safety. He was immediately hired to cover the health of food, and remains today America's foremost advocate at the intersection of bad food and bad drugs and bad regulatory design. In this interview we cover both public health and an area of deep shared interest, transpartisan politics and election reform, as well as the pernicious effect of social media censorship, survey manipulation, and digital assassination. On balance, Jim concludes that America is both in crisis, and getting healthier.
