This video, taken from a lecture given at the University of Texas in 2009, catalogs the specific efforts of former journalist Gary Weiss to use social media to minimize public perception of the dangers of illegal naked short selling. It included manipulation of blogs, Wikipedia, message boards and even financial journalists. The video includes a clear explanation of how naked shorting works and why it's a threat to our financial system, as well as evidence of Weiss acting under the direction of the DTCC.
